  • Staff
    Matt ‎
    Office Manager

Matt has been working with animals for many years. He might be biologically in his thirties, but his knees and back are somewhere in their eighties! He has always wanted to work with animals since he was a young lad and switched from wanting to be a veterinarian to a technician when he found out he would have to go to school for at least 8 years….gross! He was fortunate to work with Dr. Scott DeLong several years ago and is very happy to be working with him again! Matt doesn’t have any animals right now but plans to adopt a cat and a chihuahua in the future. In his free time, Matt likes to play video games, read, bike, and watch John Wick movies repeatedly.

  • Staff
    Kim ‎
    Veterinary Receptionist

Kim started her animal medicine journey in 2017. In that short time, she filled in as an assistant, receptionist, and technician. Her life has been filled with different experiences with animals. From having a Persian cat as a child to breeding Rottweilers, she has always wanted to have a career with animals.

Along with her fiancé, Daryl, she spends her free time spoiling her grandchildren and her chocolate dapple female Dachshund, Lainey.  Her favorite part of her job is getting to see puppies/kittens that grow up happy and healthy with the clinic. When not ruining her kid’s kids by spoiling them, you can find Kim in the kitchen, listening to music, going to concerts, and having her fiancé take her to nice places.

Her favorite part of her job is developing a relation with both the pet and the owner that promotes mutual trust.

When not caring for the patients, Alondra likes to be outdoors and spend time with her family. From pickle ball, to hiking, to Strongest woman competitions, nothing is too much for this go getter!

Alondra shares her home with her sweet pitty named Molly who allows her to stay at her house and pay the rent.

  • Staff
    Isaac ‎
    Veterinary Technician

Isaac has worked with animals since before he was born. He was raised by a roaming band of wild llamas that taught him their majestic ways. Just kidding……. or are we? The human side of his family consists of two brothers and three sisters. Issac just so happens to be the youngest, which he claims means his parents went through 5 prototypes before reaching perfection with him. Animals are truly his passion, and his favorite part of his job is seeing the individual personalities of each patient and applying personalized care to each one. When not roaming the wild plains of Georgia with his llama brethren, Isaac is in the process of having every hobby known to man. Here are just a few hobbies that consume Isaac’s life: Animals, plants, animals, photography, animals, football, animals, rodeos, helping with his family’s pumpkin patch,  and animals!

The aspect that makes Madalyn love working at a veterinary clinic is establishing a bond with the patients and helping them feel safe and secure during their visits. When not at work or school, Madalyn likes to sing, paint, and work out. She is currently trying to combine them all into one!

  • Staff Kayleigh
    Kayleigh West
    Kennel Technician

Kayleigh is currently a welding student at Athens Technical College, an animal lover to the core, and someone who’s been around animals for as long as she can remember.

She graduated high school at 16 through Athens Tech’s Dual Achievement Program, and has been chasing big goals ever since—whether it’s under a welding hood or in a vet clinic.

She has two cats, Chico (an orange tabby with serious attitude) and Boots (my laid-back tuxedo), But has raised everything from hamsters and bunnies to dogs, cats, and horses.

In July 2025, Kayleigh joined Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital and immediately felt at home. Helping animals—and the people who love them—truly lights her up, and she couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.

When not at work or school, you’ll find her playing guitar, making crafts, or just soaking up time with friends. Kayleigh’s dream is to one day have her own little farm filled with horses, cows, dogs, and probably way too many cats.
